Welcome to Sunshine House
Sunshine House in Northwood, West London, is a specialist education setting for blind and partially sighted children, aged 3-14 from Eden’s Grangewood and Moorcroft Schools.

Eden Schools
All children at Sunshine House are pupils at;
The Eden Academy Trust’s Grangewood School, or
The Eden Academy Trust’s Moorcroft School.
Grangewood School is a primary school, based in Eastcote, Middlesex, for children with a range of learning disabilities including those who are autistic and those who have physical or sensory needs.
Moorcroft is an outstanding school for students aged 11 — 19 years with severe learning difficulties, profound & multiple learning difficulties & autistic spectrum disorders. Moorcroft has a lively sixth form where they prepare students for life outside school.
Pupils at Sunshine House
The children who are educated at Sunshine House are blind and partially sighted with other needs that may include:
- significant and multiple learning difficulties and disabilities
- additional sensory impairments
- communication difficulties
- physical disabilities
- additional medical and healthcare needs, including complex epilepsy and life-limiting conditions.
Our teaching team is highly skilled and qualified in working with children with visual impairments and a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
We have qualified teachers of the visually impaired (QTVIs) and qualified teachers of children with multi-sensory impairment (QTMSI).
We also have teachers with qualifications and extensive experience in teaching children with special educational needs.
Teaching staff, therapists and social care professionals all work together so every child’s learning is maximised.
The teaching staff at Sunshine House use a range of subjects, therapy and specialised methods of interaction matched to pupils’ needs to help children reach their potential. We focus on communication in various forms during activities, supported by an extremely high level of individual teaching and care.
